Keymap does not open

Keymap's default shortcut is Control ⌃ + Command ⌘. Hold both modifiers, then release them to open Keymap. If it does not respond:

  1. Open PinchKey Settings and confirm Enable Keymap is on.
  2. In Privacy & Security, allow PinchKey under Accessibility and Input Monitoring.
  3. Quit and reopen PinchKey after changing permissions.

To record a different shortcut, open PinchKey Settings → Keyboard Shortcut. For a Hyper shortcut, activate Hyper (Control ⌃ + Option ⌥ + Shift ⇧ + Command ⌘), then press the key you want to assign.

Window previews are blank

Window switching needs Accessibility access. Live preview images also need Screen Recording permission.

Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording, enable PinchKey, then reopen the app.

Pinch gestures do not open Launchpad

macOS may be using the same 4- or 5-finger gesture.

  1. Open System Settings → Trackpad → More Gestures.
  2. Disable the system Launchpad or App Exposé gesture.
  3. In PinchKey Settings, enable the 4- or 5-finger gesture you want to use.

Apps are missing from Launchpad

Start typing the app name to search. PinchKey scans standard application folders and filters some system-only utilities.

To reorder apps, drag an icon to a new position. Hold Option ⌥ to reveal the delete control for apps macOS allows you to remove.

Licenses and updates

Recover a lost key from the License page using the email from checkout. A license activates PinchKey on up to 2 Macs.

PinchKey checks for signed updates automatically. You can also choose Check for Updates in Settings.
